The Gigabyte S1080 has gotten an update to the S1081 and we’ve decided to unbox it for you as well. The upgraded 10.1 inch tablet is nearly identical to the S1080 apart from a Cedar Trail processor bump to the N2800 processor. The processor change is actually a very significant one since one of the main flaws of the S1080 was that it was too hot, the N2800 allows for a much cooler experience, it still gets warm, but it’s not even close to the same levels that we saw with the S1080.
To give you a refresher, everything else is pretty much the same, we’ve got a “hot touch” button that allows for scrolling toggles, up and down buttons, a volume rocker, full size SD card slot, right and left mouse buttons, USB 2.0 and 3.0, HDMI, Ethernet ports, mic jack, two speakers, side fan, SIM card slot, a full size VGA port all along side 2GB of DDR3 RAM and a 320 GB hard drive.
We’ve taken it out of the box below, there is a nice surprise with a tiny power adapter. If you’re looking to pick on up, it’s available on Amazon for $650.
