A resourceful guy from Sammobile discovered a clue in the mystery of the new Nexus tablet. The guys at codeworkx identified a few lines of code that link Samsung to the Nexus tablet from Google. It appears that the South Koreans will be the ones to try and make this new device.

In the code, the Exynos 5250 processor is mentioned. Therefore the Nexus should be based on the new ARM Cortex-A15 architecture and would be supported in terms of graphics by the Mali T-604 chip running at 533 megahertz. The graphics chip is code named “Vithar”. The resolution of the Super AMOLED display will be “only” 1280 x 800 pixels, which to me sounds a little too thin for a supposedly new reference tablet. The code could of course point instead to a new Nexus smartphone, though I still stumble over the Cortex-A15 architecture. I can not really imagine it working in such a device. What are your opinions on what we’re dealing with here? By the end of June there is the Google I / O, then at least we will know more.

I think a lot of “Curve Balls” are being thrown here. Google in my opinion are trying to keep their cards close to their chest and keep us all guessing. These may just be test units with only testing configurations being used.

I can imagine Google using Samsung for a Nexus device, but they also need to bear in mind that this could be deemed as favouritism by the other manufacturers.
We could after all along with all the rumours earlier this year see multiple devices being launched maybe a 7 & 10 inch tablet along with a new phone maybe for later in the year especially as Google have decided to start marketing directly to the public with “Multiple devices”.

Getting interesting roll on Google IO
