The Galaxy Tab 2 (7.0), along with its 10.1-inch little brother, is the first Samsung tablet with Android 4.0. In the U.S. prices start at $ 250. The Galaxy Tab 2 will compete vigorously with devices like the Kindle and the Fire NOOK Color. The 7-inch tablet has a 1024 × 600 pixel display, 1GB RAM, 8GB Flash and a TI OMAP 4 dual core CPU with 1.0 GHz. The tablet is just now available in the U.S. and our colleague Brad from Liliputing has published a detailed review of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 (7.0).

The Galaxy Tab 2 comes with a strong recommendation. It offers what no other manufacturer currently has on the market: an affordable tablet with a good display, Android 4.0, unrestricted access to the Android Marketplace, a camera and an SD card slot. Below is Brad’s review. The full text of his review can be found here.

A welcome addition to the market with reasonable specs, something I would always consider, as a purchase of a tablet for me would very much be as a secondary device with only occasional use and therefore I am unable to justify the expenditure equal to that of a laptop on a portable device I would not be using as often as my laptop or phone.

The size for me is just right and the welcome addition of the Samsung Media hub, means this would be the ideal companion for those long journeys or holidays and or extended stays away from home

What model Mediapad are you referring to, in the UK this Samsung Tab would be available for £200 whereas the Huawei Tabs I can see are £300+
