The Chinese manufacturer EKING has come out with a new unnamed 5 inch UMPC or Mobile Internet Device. The device most likely sports an Intel Atom CPU and it comes with a multi-touch display. The slider form factor is pretty interesting with a physical keyboard letting the user decide if they want to use the multi touch screen or thumb type it. Left and right of the display sit various buttons, there is also a raised navigation pad.
The 5-inch display with multi-touch surface is allegedly from the same suppliers as Sharp and offers a resolution of 1024 × by 600 pixel. Which is similar to Sharp’s proprietary MIDs. In addition to a Webcam, WLAN, Bluetooth, GPS and UMTS module you can also send an SMS.
