Remember the Lenovo IdeaPad U1? It was the hybrid tablet with keyboard docking station that went from Windows 7 while docked and Android when in tablet form.  We’ve been hearing that it will come to market but when and where is a mystery and to be honest we first saw it at CES 2011 so really I’d given up on ever seeing it hit the streets.  But the 10 inch devices has reared it’s head again at the Lenovo headquarters and the lovely staff who showed us around told me that they will be hitting the streets.  It could just be a matter of being released only in China, which Lenovo seems to be doing more and more.

When it was first announced the tablet was powered by a 1.3GHz Snapdragon processor and connects to the notebook through a USB port and things haven’t changed.  If you check the video above you’ll see that they nod that they haven’t forgotten about the design.  So if you’re looking forward to the U1 hitting the streets, I wouldn’t hold your breath but I would keep an eye out for something similar in September when Windows 8 is released.
