A new Ultrabok has popped up in Japan, the Lesanceis a mere 19mm thing and very competitively priced at $725 (59980 Yen). Part of the reason we’re seeing such an impressive price point is that it appears to be manufactured by a 2nd Tier OEM and it’s got an unimpressive spec sheet and its weight is at the high end of the Ultrabook scales at 1.64Kg. This Japan-only model should be showing up in other countries under different brand names in the near future.
The Lesance NB S3431 Ultrabook has a 14” glossy display with a 1366×768 screen resolution, under the hood we’ve got a Core i5 2467M (1.6Ghz) processor, 4GB RAM a 500GB HDD + 64GB cache which is acutally a very large cache so we’re wondering if Windows has been installed on a 64GB SSD, however, the advertising seems to indicate that it is only a cache drive. Connectivity wise it has handy VGA and LAN ports, 2x USB 2.0 ports, multi-card reader. Battery life should clock in at around 5Hr according to the JEITA battery test, however this isn’t the most complex test so we wonder if this number is a little high.
