Patents have been a hot topic for coverage for a while now and to be honest I’m starting to find it a little boring. But, today I came across a patent from Samsung that doesn’t seem unrealistic to roll out and I want immediately! Imagine being able to take any graphic electronically wrap it around your entire phone, front and back! And you’ll be able to do it when ever you want!
This will all be done via a smart device-skin or film layer that’s associated within the device’s display. You can see by the image above that the entire device will be used to interact with the images on the screen.
Samsung appears to be so confident that this will become the next consumer crazy, that they’re even considering a retail version of this smart device-skin to be sold as an accessory at retail stores for older Samsung smartphones.
Nokia actually has a concept video out that actually looks alot like Samsung’s patent (another patent war?). Check out the video if the image above isn’t enough for you to visualize what’s going on.
