Bandai / Namco games celebrates cuteness on their 55th Anniversary with the a limited edition Miffy netbook.
To match the sugar coated Miffy exterior are a bunch of Miffy themed software apps that should appeal to the kiddies. If I had a kid I would probably get this if I could afford one but I am more likely to just buy a standard netbook and slap Miffy stickers on it.
On the inside is standard netbook fare with a 10.1″ 1024 x 600 display, Intel Atom N450 processor, GMA 3150 graphics, 160GB HDD, 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi and a 0.3MP webcam. Has a 3-cell battery that barely makes 2.6 hours. Weight at 1.1 kg.
For ports: 2x USB 2.0, Ethernet LAN, card reader, and audio jacks.
There are two models. A Windows XP Home model sells for 79,800 yen ($902) and a Windows 7 Home Premium model for 89,800 ($1015). In either case they are clearly priced way beyond any netbook and even many low end notebooks. They go up for pre-order from 9 July – 30 September with shipping in late September.
