According to the ever-nebulous “reliable sources”, 9 to 5 Mac is reporting that the iPad HD or iPad 3 will go on sale just 9 days after tomorrow’s (Mar. 7) big announcement in San Francisco.
Apple usually doesn’t take too long between announcing a product and having it available for sale, except when pesky things like FCC filings (in the case of the original iPhone) get in the way of a speedy product release. So it’s not surprising, if the Mar. 16 date turns out to be correct, that the iPad HD will go on sale then. Rumors regarding huge Apple shipments from China “corroborate” a quick turnaround between announcement and availability.
We’re less than 24 hours away from the announcement, so we’ll find out soon enough when interested parties can purchase the next-generation iPad.
