Do you laugh in the face of tablets and Ultrabooks, still clinging onto netbooks for dear life? Maybe you’re the demographic for the ASUS Eee PC X101CH with Intel’s Cedar Trail processor inside.

Kidding aside, this netbook from ASUS combines a decent set of hardware and a really reasonable price point to make a compelling device to buy if you can’t be completely productive with a tablet and can’t yet afford Ultrabook pricing. Various online retailers are offering the Eee PC X101CH for under $280 USD. For that price you get:

  • dual-core, 1.6 GHz, Intel Atom N2600 processor
  • 1 GB RAM
  • 320 GB HDD
  • 10.1-inch display, 1024 x 600
  • 3-cell, 23 W/h battery
  • Windows 7 Starter edition

All in all, a decent computer to buy if your budget is tight. Plus, it’ll be a pretty portable machine for on-the-go computing. People’s computing needs are all different. For some, a netbook is still the best way to go. It’s nice to see that ASUS is still looking out for that niche.
