Toshiba’s update to the Thrive tablet, the AT200 or the “Excite X10″ (as it will be known as in the US), has gone on sale in the UK as a Carphone Warehouse exclusive.

It has a 10.1-inch screen with a 16:10 aspect ratio, and 1280 x 800 resolution. Under the hood is a dual-core, 1.2 GHz TI OMAP 4430 processor with 1 GB of RAM. The AT200 will be available in 16 GB and 32 GB versions.

But what is most noticeable about the AT200 is its thinness. It is reportedly the thinnest Android tablet at 7.7 mm thin. Amazingly it’s still thinner than the ASUS Transformer Prime which is 8.3 mm thin! Despite its thin chassis, it still has microUSB and microHDMI ports, and a microSD slot for connectivity and memory expansion.

Carphone Warehouse has an exclusive deal to sell the AT200. The 16 GB version is £399, while the 32 GB version is £549. This is rather pricey, but I guess Toshiba is hoping that the tablet’s sleek and thin design will impress buyers enough to pay a premium price for the device. It is running Honeycomb right now, but Toshiba has promised an Ice Cream Sandwich update soon.

Apparently once the AT200 is on sale in the US, it will ship with Ice Cream Sandwich, but there aren’t any firm US release dates yet.
