If you thought have angry birds on your phone was bad you’re in for some serious time wasting because now its going to be available on Facebook! Rovio, the creator of Angry Birds is planning its big launch in Jakarta on February 14th. Why Jakarta? Well Jakarta is the global capital of Facebook so there really isn’t a better place to launch.
Heading on to the PC Angry Birds has some customized tweaks for the Facebook experience. You’ll be able to get those pigs in full screen with higher quality animations. Rovio will also introduce new power-ups (e.g. an earthquake; or special, bigger, or stronger birds) which you can buy (for US$0.99) or earn while playing the game.
Since Facebook is a social network there are also going to be leaderboards so you can compete against your friends for bragging rights. Like in the mobile version we’re going to see variations pop up like the Dragon inspired Chinese New Year Season which was just released to commemorate the festival.
Keeping the localized flavor alive Rovio also plans to recruit an intern by holding a game developer competition in Indonesia. The winner will earn an internship for a month to get to know how Rovio works – and in return, he or she can make a contribution to this localized version of Angry Birds.
