The Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 is at the top of our pile right now for tablets.  We’re still using the Sony S and the ASUS Transformer Prime, but the 7.7″ form factor just fits better with our on the go work flow.

The Galaxy Tab 7.7 which runs Android 3.2 on a 1.4 GHz dual-core processor and it has no official word on an Android 4.0 update. The Galaxy Tab 7.7 includes a front-facing 2-megapixel camera, along with a 3-megapixel camera on the back. The OS takes advantage of Samsung’s most recent TouchWiz interface, adding a tray of useful utilities to the bottom of the screen.

Like the Galaxy Tab 7 Plus, the Tab 7.7 includes an IR blaster on its edge, allowing it to be used as a universal remote control when matched with the included Peel app. The tablet comes with 16GB of onboard memory, along with a microSD card slot for additional storage.

Just like the Galaxy note the Galaxy Tab 7.7 comes with the 1.4Ghz Exynos running a Mali GPU, this means its a dual core ARM Cortex-A9!  This processor is used to power one of the standout features, the Super AMOLED Plus screen technology. Similar to the AMOLED screen used in the recently announced Samsung Galaxy Note, the 1,280×800-pixel resolution screen on the Galaxy Tab 7.7 is wonderfully vibrant and achieves deep black levels by switching pixels off entirely.

In the following video we walk you through the pre-installed software, and go in detail on the performance of the 1.4Ghz Exynos SoC.  It really delivers and proves that you don’t need 4 cores to have a fast tablet:
