At an event in Germany our sister site TabletBlog.de got their hands on the Acer A200 running Ice Cream Sandwich. This is Acer’s newest budget tablet as it features a dual-core Tegra 2 processor, a 1280 x 800 10.1-inch display, and 8GB and 16GB storage options. The starting price is $329.99 topping off at $349.99. Also on board is a 2MP front-facing camera, microSD slot for expanded storage, and a full-sized USB 2.0 port.
The Iconia Tab A200 has a built in UI layer called the Acer Ring which is meant to improve multitasking by creating easy-access apps from any screen. It also features Screenshot, which quickly captures web images, articles, Google Maps and even smiling faces from video calls. Screenshot can be used in any app on any screen and if you wanted you could take some shots of Acer’s Clear.fi in action. Clear.fi is Acer’s own DLNA solution to connect, share and watch media.
The A200 weights in at 720grams which is lighter than the original Transformer which weights 800gm but the Transformer Prime comes in at 586gm. Connectivity wise tablet has a full-size USB port for hooking up other devices and a MicroSD slot for passing data. There is only a 2 MP front facing web camera for face-to-face chats or photo’s, there is no rear facing camera on this device.
