In celebration of the 25th anniversary of the company’s laptop business, they are having a huge Press Conference in Tokyo today which we are waiting to see what Asian Fan fair they will have on display. Toshiba is going to be showing off the classic Libretto brand with the reinvented W100. I’m a little unsure about dual screen netbooks, you can only look at one screen at a time, its goes through battery twice a quick and there doesn’t appear to be any innovative data manipulation or text input.

The W100 has two 7-inch, 1024 x 600-resolution touchscreens, and is powered by a 1.2GHz Intel Pentium U5400 processor, 2GB of RAM, a 64GB SSD and Windows 7 Home Premium. We have seen proof of concept designs like this come to market in the past and seen them remain proof of concept, however Toshiba is actually planning to bring it to market for $1,099 within the next few months on a limited basis. Here are some press shots and a video to wet your whistle.

It's an interesting concept but software will doom this device just like almost every touch tablet out there today. Now, if we can get some developers from the Nintendo DS to create some good applications then this concept has a chance.
