The ASUS Padfone will be officially announced at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona next month, so the news of it being Tegra 3 is still not official. We did however get to spend some hands-on time with the Padfone running Android 4.0 and we’re very pleased with some of the early customizations. The Padstation (the tablet dock for the handset) will be compatible with original docking station of the ASUS Transformer.
This is a great selling feature for those who have the original Transformer and are looking to upgrade it (if they didn’t already make the leap on to the Prime). We also noticed some customizations in Android 4.0 with a dedicated page for Padfone applications. The software build is still in development, so no guarantees that the Padfone application section will still be there.
Check out our hands-on video to see for yourself.
