ASUS France has released a tweet letting everyone know that the first ASUS Eee Pad Transformer the TF101 will be getting the Ice Cream Sandwich update soon. The below tweet roughly translate to “We don’t have a release date yet, but the ICS update for the first Transformer will be coming soon.”
The ASUS Transformer Prime is getting the Android 4.0 update on January 12th, so this is in line with what we’ve heard from ASUS. We’ve been told that there is only one team working on porting Android 4.0 on to ASUS devices and that team has been working fiercly to push ICS on to the Prime. Once they are done with that, they will turn their attention over to the original Transformer the TF101. Makes perfect sense to me!
Chinese New Year starts on Monday January 23rd and is 15 days long, so let’s hope that the ASUS Android 4.0 team gets it done before this holiday!
