Archos has to be known best for making portable media players like the Archos 5 but they have on occation come out with an Atom based Netbook, the newest addition is slightly larger Archos 13. It weighs in at 3.5 pound on its 13.3 inch frame with 1366 x 768 pixel display and an a dual core Intel Atom D510 processor. We can’t say that we understand why so many companies are putting this CPU aimed at the desktop market into mobile computers, the battery life bites! If we keep looking under the hood its sporting 1GB of DDR2 of RAM, a 160GB hard drive, 802.1b/g/n WiFi, Bluetooth 2.0, and a 6 cell battery. It has a VGA port, but no HDMI.
The Archos is rolling out in France with Windows 7 Starter for €399.98 or $485 US.
