Looks like the Apple iPhone is starting to loose its steam. It looks like market share is declining in the majority of Europe except for the UK, they’re still loyal Apple fanboy’s. According to research firm Kantar the October release of Apple’s new iPhone 4S stayed strong in the US & UK but mainland Europe didn’t seem to care.
France, Germany, Italy, and Spain all saw declines, with the most significant coming from France, from 29% down to 20%. Germany fell from 27 percent to 22 percent because this one of Android’s strongest markets and it has one of the largest leads with 61%. Kantar attributed the French decline to “price sensitivity,” however all of is experiencing a tightening of the belt as governments continue to cut spending and jobs.
For the most part the decline can be attributed to the growing popularity of Android where it is enjoying between 46 and 61 percent market share in all markets.
