Apple’s not giving up on going after its number one competitor in the tablet market. Samsung released an alternative to the Samsung Galaxy 10.1 in Germany, the Galaxy 10.1N which changed the bezel design to get around their community design patent. Unlike the original Galaxy Tab 10.1, the 10.1N features a revised frame that wraps around to the front of the display, which is fairly different than the edge-to-edge glass featured in Apple’s design registration. Apple’s not happy with the changes and has asked the German court to ban the 10.1N too! It’s not surprising that Apple challenged the workaround, but we’ll see how this gets them. Court is set for December 22nd, so we’ll see what happens in a few weeks.
