Computex may have been overrun with tablets this year, but we spared some love for Intel’s Canoe Lake ultra-thin netbook reference design too. Packing Intel’s new N550 CPU – along with a 10.1-inch display, 2GB of RAM and HD video capabilities – it’s 14mm thick and quite the feat of engineering. NetbookNews caught up with it for a second video demo.
It will probably be one of those new 7mm HDD’s that are 2.5. It would make sense since those can go to 7200rpm. This would explain both the speed and the thickness. How thick are 1.8'' drives as I though they were the same height but smaller footprint. Saying that 1.8'' drives are normally fairly slow. Either that or they are lying and it is an SSD (would surprise me but I heard worse).

http://www.trustedreviews.com/storage/news/2010...

Might be a pre production sample. If anyone can get there hands on one it would be intel.
