Samsung Galaxy Nexus Goes On Sale

The Samsung Galaxy Nexus has gone on sale, with the UK getting the first dibs on the third handset to be officially released with Google’s brand spanking new Android 4.0.  In the UK retailer Phones 4U grabbed the exclusive on the 4.65-inch Super AMOLED HD smartphone, offering the handset from free with a £36 ($57) per month, two-year agreement.  Developers are a little peeved that they aren’t able to pick up the handset with out having to sign a contract.

The Samsung Galaxy Nexus will be he first to market with Ice Cream Sandwich and will have a 4.65″ Super AMOLED display with 1280 x 720 screen resolution. The hardware has a 1.2 GHz TI OMAP 4460 dual core processor with 1GB of RAM, 32GB of storage, 802.11a/b/g/n WiFi, Bluetooth 3.0, A-GPS, and a 5.1MP camera that can record 1080p HD video. The battery life of the Nexus has a shot at being great with a 1750mAh battery.
