Sharp was quick to axe the 10″ & 5″ Galapagos tablets but an elusive 7″ tablet was said to have remained and has finally been caught on camera. The Galapagos EB-A71GJ-B has a 7-inch screen and runs Android 3.2 and features WiMax support. The built in WiFi and the tablet can be used as a hot spot for up to seven other devices.
The 7-inch screen resolution is 1024 x 600 and the chip inside is a dual core Tegra 2. We’ve also got 1GB of memory and, a microSD card slot, 8GB or internal storage and Bluetooth. Connectivity wise we’ve also got an HDMI output for watching video or surfing on TV. The rear camera is a 5MP unit and the front is 2MP and if we cross our finger it may have an Android 4.0 update as well.
If you’re looking for a date, the Google translate seems to indicate September 12, but we’re thinking it actually Deceber 12th since they’re talking about current Data pricing for Wimax contracts in the original av.watch article.
