The Kindle Fire source code had been made available by Amazon. It’s great for making your own ROM or operating system for your tablet but you won’t be able to install anything on your tablet with first rooting it.

Lucky we’ve got people like death2all11o from Phandroid‘s forums who has created a very nice “how-to” guide in the Kindle Fire forums give a blow by blow on to root the Kindle Fire.  Its a simple process and then you’ll be able to install ALL the great ROMs that are created to over clock and leverage this cheap as chips tablet.

The Kindle Fire is On Sale Now for $199 if you want to pick one up.
