Motorola started the family-friendly tablet trend by releasing a Xoom Family Edition. Then we heard about the “world’s slimmest child-proof” tablet from Karuma called the PlayBase. Now Toys ‘R Us is offering their addition to the kid-friendly tabletspace called the Nabi Tablet.
While the specs won’t wow the power tablet user, the Nabi has a decent set of specs for a kid-oriented device:
- 7-inch, 800 x 480 capacitive touchscreen
- 533 MHz, dual-core Cortex A9 processor with PowerVR SGX530 GPU
- 4 GB internal storage
- Wi-Fi
- front-facing camera
- up to 5 hours battery life
- can support up to 1080p HD video playback (!)
Toys ‘R Us has also packed the Nabi with a lot of useful educational software as well as their own app store of 500 applications and games:
