Next week is a big week for Kindle Fire fans. On Nov. 15 pre-orders will finally ship and it’ll also be available from many big-box retailers. We’ll finally get to see whether Amazon hit a home run, as their huge pre-order numbers imply. But ahead of the big launch, Amazon has updated the Appstore for Android app in preparation.

Similar to Google’s recent makeovers of many of their services like Gmail and Google Docs to update the UIs to look like Ice Cream Sandwich, Amazon has updated their Appstore to mirror the Kindle Fire’s UI. A while ago they had updated their Android Kindle app to have a more Kindle Fire-esque design. But this update to the Appstore also has a few changes under the hood.

As can be seen in the settings page, users now can easily see their gift card balance and configure parental controls, in-app purchasing, and download preferences.

Amazon also fixed a few bugs and claim some download speed improvements as well as shorter load times for apps. You can check out the update on your Android device today. If you haven’t already downloaded the Appstore for Android app, you can get it here.
