Netbook News is going live from the Netbook Summit in San Francisco May 24-25th, 2010 from the Grand Hyatt.

The Netbook Summit focuses on netbooks, streamlined mobile devices designed for the Internet and allowing users to stay connected on the go. They are optimized for low weight and low cost rather than computing power. They are typically less expensive and less powerful than traditional notebooks or desktops. Netbooks are small, thin, lightweight and energy efficient portable computers that have experienced explosive growth among consumers, students, and even business users looking for an easy to use, mobile, and cost effective alternative to a full size notebook computer. They are also ideal for uses in education, data collection, services, law enforcement, and medical and retail applications.

Can you get us the scoop on netbook convertible tablets? When will we see a small, reasonably priced convertible tablet with 10+ hour battery life?

We already see that in “regular” netbooks. What about convertibles? That would seem to get the best of both worlds to compete with the wave of Tegra 2 Android tablets coming out, as well as regular netbook and laptop functionality.
