The new tablet Dell Latitude ST is 10″ running Windows 7 with Windows 8 compatibility as soon as it is released. Its professional looking tablet that measures in at 15 mm thich and a weight of 816 g. The capacitive touch display supports a stylus and has a resolution of 1280 x 800 and offers PIXE Wide Viewing Angle technology, which allows for a wide viewing angle that’s protected by Corning’s Gorilla Glass. The back panel is partially removable allowing us to check out what’s under the hood with a a single core Intel Atom Z670 1.5 GHz, coupled with Intel GMA 600 graphics and Intel SM35 which will aloow for Full HD 1080p video.
There are also two cameras, one front and one rear the 5MP rear camera is capable of 720p HD movies. The battery is a 4-cell 30 Wh lithium-ion that should allow for 5-6 hours of use. As we saw in the video its got a docking station that adds another 3 USB 2.0 ports, an RJ-45 plug for connection to 10/100/1000 Gigabit Ethernet LAN and a second HDMI digital video output.
Being a business focused Tablet, Dell has not neglected then also the security of data. It’s also available as an optional TPM 1.2 that is coupled with Dell’s Data Protection Software, which allows the user to remotly delete any data. There is also support for Microsoft Windows 7 Bitlocker to encrypt the data and for the tablet it self there is a Kensington jey lock.
