Asus showed a preview of the successor to the Asus Eee Pad Transformer tablet at All Things D in Hong Kong last week. The Transformer Prime is a very thin Android tablet fashioned after the Asus Zenbooks, with the aluminum body and concentric circles etched in the cover.

It’s a very striking tablet, but Asus has said they will officially unveil it on November 9. Someone at PTT.cc was able to get hold of the Transformer Prime and its keyboard dock and posted a bunch of photos (no blurrycam!), however they were pulled down. Luckily for us, Notebook Italia was able to snag the photos and repost them.

While the original Asus Eee Pad Transformer and its keyboard dock were a striking brown/bronze color, the Transformer Prime and keyboard dock are a more conventional silver. The lighting in these unofficial photos don’t really do the concentric circle etch design justice, but it is still distinguishable. Despite the Transformer Prime’s thinness, we still see that it has a micro(?)-USB port and a microSD slot. We also see that the Transformer Prime lock screen has direct access to mail or the browser (not sure if this was present on the original Eee Pad Transformer tablet).

With the official announcement coming November 9, it won’t be long before all is revealed.
