HTC has some nice news for the friends of the company, if you remember there was a deal struck between Dropbox & HTC, well we’re seeing the fruits of that partnership. If you’re lucky enough to have the Sensation XL, the Rhyme or the HTC Explorer you can look forward namely to 5 GB of free online storage at Dropbox. HTC announced this on their Twitter and we’ve got the tweet for you below:
There is a key bit of information missing in that tweet, since it would have you believe it was all HTC Android phones. The reason its limited to such a small list of phones is that it’s the Dropbox app is only available on phones with HTC’s own surface Sense 3.5. To what extent other HTC smartphone owners can enjoy the cloud storage, is not yet clear.
HTC has more exciting news as many of their devices are going to be getting the Ice Cream Sandwich update,we learned on Google + from Rasiwasia Samarth, a developer work on the Sense UI, that the following handsetswill be getting the update:
- HTC Sensation (XL, XE, original)
- HTC EVO 3D
- HTC Incredible S
- HTC HD
- HTC Flyer
- HTC Rhyme
- HTC Desire S
- HTC Salsa
- HTC Desire
- Nexus One
That’s only his opinion, there many be more phone’s updated in the future, but the list does make sense, since all the phones are Gingerbread smartphones suitable for ICS. We simply wait until HTC makes an official statement. Until then we are happy anyway, that among all the smartphones, the HTC Flyer is represented – the 7-inch tablet from HTC, which so far does not even have Honeycomb.
