Get ready, People. Now that the SDK for Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich is out, there will probably be a ton of SDK-based ports to other Android phones. How exciting! You may not have to feel left out of the Ice Cream Sandwich club if you aren’t planning on buying the Samsung Galaxy Nexus. The Samsung Nexus S 4G seems to be first out of the gates sporting a very alpha version of an unofficial Ice Cream Sandwich port.
While it’s hard to be convinced by the photo above, since you can’t really see that the phone is supposedly a Nexus S 4G, you can go to the Android Central forum for the Sprint Nexus S 4G to read up on the progress and make up your own mind whether this truly is the first unofficial port floating out there.
If you are already convinced, be aware that the port has not yet been released because there are still some major features that aren’t working satisfactorily, like touchscreen response, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, data (mobile data?), and audio. But with how a lot of these ROM hacks go, I wouldn’t be surprised to see a reasonably working version released sooner rather than later.
