Apple has won its lawsuit against Samsung in Australia and the Galaxy Tab 10.1 will not be sold as the court ruled that it infringed on patents owned by Apple. During the trial Samsung had already halted advertising and selling the tablet until the court made its decision.
OriginallySamsung reached out to Apple last month, trying to settle the matter by tweaking certain parts of the Galaxy Tab to avoid infringement but Apple wasn’t interested in comprimises. Who really losses in this situation is us, the consumer, since we’re being deprived of a great Android tablet. i’ve always thought that Apple went after them because they were the strongest competition. Besides, it seems like Apple is trying to sue almost anybody who sells a touchscreen tablet. Similar lawsuits are ongoing around the globe, including in Japan, France, the Netherlands and the United States.
