When Google acquired Motorola we knew that even though they said they weren’t going to play favorites Motorola was going to get some special treatment. Fudzilla has repeatedly heard that the first Honeycomb Android tablet, the Mororola Xoom, is going to get the Android 4.0 ‘Ice Cream Sandwich’ update before anyone else. Since this is the first tablet to market and the official Google Honeycomb partner is Motorola (LG is supposed to be next & Qualcomm with HTC had the pole position before Motorola) we think this is a likely story.

What we do know about the other popular Android tablets on the market is that Asus Transformer 1 and 2, Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1, Sony, Lenovo will be getting Ice Cream Sandwich. However, since some of them have their own user interface and other tweaks, it will take a little more time for the update to appear.

Looks like the early adopters that paid for the over priced Android tablet when it first came out are going to be coming out ahead with the ICS update! When will this happen? The are no time lines, but with the Nexus Prime running ICS, being released in Hong Kong tomorrow at the All Things D conference we can assume that we’re not too far off.
