With all the carriers getting rid of their unlimited data plans in favor of tiered plans, most of them capped at 5 GB per month, Sprint is hoping that keeping their unlimited data plans for new iPhone 4S users will give people enough reason to either stay with Sprint or switch over to them.
For $69.99 a month, you get unlimited data plus 450 minutes, while the top-of-the-line, unlimited everything data plan will run $99.99 a month. Steep, but probably not too bad for business users who rely on heavy mobile data use and minutes. Current Sprint users who’ve been pining away for an iDevice are probably pleased that the arrival of the iPhone 4S will still net them Sprint’s attractive unlimited data plans. Will this lure current Verizon and AT&T customers over to Sprint, though? We’ll have to keep an eye on the numbers over the next few months to answer that question.
