ASUS has up dated their most popular SeaShell line netbook with 1015 series with the Asus Eee PC 1015BX which now features the AMD C-60 CPU. The device features the same 10 inch chassis with a 1024 x 600 screen resolution, 1GB of RAM and a 320GB Hard drive.
If you haven’t heard of the AMD C-60 CPU its an slight upgrade to the C-50 which AMD rolled out just a few weeks ago. The 1.33 GHz C-60 is a low power chip with a TDP ofWatts and offers Radeon HD 6250 graphics with a clock speed ranging from 276 MHz to 400 MHz.
The new processor should offer a bit of a performance boost, but if we compare it to Intel’s line up its not in the same league as the Core i Series, not even close. However, if we compare it to Intel’s netbook processor, the Atom, it got more graphics performance with comparable battery life. The AMD chips have support for HD video playback and DirectX 11 graphics, where as Atom chips can ofer HD playback but only on the dual core line up.
If you’re in Germany you can grab it from Amazon Germany for 206 Euros, about $277 USD.
