The US is pretty lucky it doesn’t share the same fate as Germany when it comes to the sale of Samsung Tablets. The Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 is the top 10″ Android tablet on the market and the Galaxy Tab 8.9 is about to hit Best Buy’s shelves Thursday September 22nd. We are unsure if it will hit the shelves of all the stores or it will just be a select few. The 16GB Wifi only version should run you $399 which is a pretty good deal and puts it on par with Acer Iconia Tab A500 and ASUS Transformer which are both great tablets (the Transformer being my personal favorite of the two). The Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 doesn’t have too much direct competition on the market as the 8.9″ size isn’t that common. The Vizio 8 budget tablet running Android 2.2 with a UI skin and the BlackBerry Playbook are the only two decent tablets that come to mind.

If you’re wondering what to expect with the Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 here are the specifications:
Operating System: Honeycomb
Display: 8.9 inch WXGA 1280 × 800
Processor: 1 GHz Dual Core
Camera: 3MP rear with LED flash, front 2MP

Storage: 16GB and microSD slot up to 32GB for more
Battery: 6000mAh
Size: 230.9 × 157.8 × 8.6mm
