For whatever reason, when the Netflix app was finally released for Android devices, only certain devices were deemed compatible and could see the download in the Android Market. Then over the last few weeks, more devices were added to the limited release list. Today Netflix went “wide release” (see what I did there?) in the Market, allowing any Android devices with 2.2, 2.3 (and up?) to download the app, no fuss, no muss.
A while ago, some users, including myself, were able to side load a version of Netflix that was floating around on the internets onto their “incompatible” devices which worked perfectly, making Netflix’s decision to limit device compatibility even more annoying. Be annoyed no longer! Install the official version of Netflix from the Android Market and enjoy.
