At this point, just about everyone knows that Amazon is going to release their own Android tablet. Now it looks like Amazon is trying to beef up their Appstore in advance of the Kindle tablet release by offering a one-time $50 USD credit for certain Amazon Web Services to developers who submit apps between September 7 and November 15. Developers who get their app verified in September will get their $50 promo code in October, while devs with later verified app submissions will receive the promo code at the end of November.

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is a cloud-computing infrastructure which encompasses services like cloud storage, non-relational database support (Amazon SimpleDB), and messaging features that developers can add to their Android apps. The services are offered on a pay-as-you-go basis for developers with no upfront costs. I’m not quite sure how far a $50 credit will get you, but it seems like a decent incentive to explore the AWS SDK and submit an app during the promotional period. I’m sure app developers with entries in the Amazon Appstore for Android will see a huge spike in downloads once the new Amazon Kindle tablet is in people’s hands.
