Third time’s a charm right? Toshiba’s hoping their recently leaked Excite tablet will be a winner by shedding the inches while retaining the ports. We saw a few renders when the tablet leaked but here are some actual pictures of the device at the Toshiba booth at IFA 2011 courtesy of Notebook Italia. Still a bit early so no hands on yet and certainly no details on the tablet yet, either.

From afar, it almost looks like the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 with the curved metal rim and rounded edges but then you notice the rim around the front cam and closing in from the side you can see it’s a little thicker.. but there are ports! Which ports aren’t clear from the shots but it’s expected to have a MicroSD card slot, microUSB and mini HDMI ports. It’s also expected to sport a TI OMAP4460 processor that’s dual-core, clocked at 1.5GHz. You’ve finally got a worthy tablet, Toshiba.

I will perhaps go with the AT100/Thrive, given the full size USB.
