We first got wind of the business oriented Asus Eee Slate B121 back in May, and recently heard that it went on sale over in Switzerland. Well, it’s coming to the US next month according to ExcaliberPC’s Facebook wall, where it’s up for pre-order, priced at $1,499.

The only spec separating this B121 model from the standard Eee Slate EP121 model is a switch from Windows 7 Home Premium to Professional, and the higher price tag that comes with that edition of Windows 7.

The specs listed – a 12.1″ 1280 x 800 (IPS) display (with digitizer pen, Folio case), Intel Core i5-470UM (1.33GHz) processor, 4GB of DDR3 RAM, a 64GB SSD, 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 3.0, a 34W/hr battery good for up to 4.5 hours, Computrace Ready and Windows 7 Professional.

They are charging far too much for this slate. They should have brought this slate in at the current price and drop the EP121 down a few hundred dollars. I love my EP121 but at this price I won’t have too many people joining me.

I’ve been waiting for a real refresh of this tablet that won’t have such dismal battery life.  Do you know if there is one in the works, or may be?  I found this tablet on-line (through Liliputing) and think that it may be the right tablet for me, but frankly…I’ve never heard of them.  Any info on either an ASUS new EP121 (or B121) with an Oak Trail processor?

My MSI tablet has almost the same specs, but its smaller, weighs less, better battery life (6 Hours), WAY better video/3D, and less then half the price. I could install a 128GB SSD and still be at half this models price. You’re basically playing $800 more for more CPU speed and a worse everything else.
