I really like the idea of the Toshiba Thrive. Even though it’s clearly chunkier than most tablets, Android and otherwise, it has features that truly differentiated it from the rest of the Honeycomb tablet field. Now it seems that Toshiba will be debuting another Honeycomb tablet at IFA 2011 that will shed some pounds and thickness, gaining a sleek, new, metallic look.
As you can see above, the new Toshiba tablet will use micro versions of the available ports on the Toshiba Thrive — microSD, microHDMI, and microUSB. While the Thrive tablet is available in capacities ranging from 8GB to 32GB, it’s not yet clear whether the new tablet will also be available across the same range of storage capacity. Looks like the new tablet will have a brushed metal back instead of the textured rubber of the Thrive:
We’ll keep an eye out for more specs as they become available, before or during IFA 2011.
