Virtual keyboards are a hot topic since they hope to replace or at least match physical keyboards in terms of productivity.  Christian Sax and Hannes Lau at the University of Technology in Sydney showed off a “Liquid Keyboard” at the Tech23 conference Tuesday in Sydney. Luckily there is a video to show off exactly how the concept works, its multi-touch and aims to get all your fingers involved.

The Liquid Keyboard adapts to your typing style by putting the key’s of the keyboard where ever you’ve got your fingers. Its a fluid design which inspires the name since the key’s follow your fingers around the keyboard.   The keyboard layout even though it is broken up follows the traditional QWERTY set up for key order. It’s an interesting idea, but in the demo, the Liquid Keyboard appears to take up a lot of screen real estate. We’d be keen to give it a whirl what about you?
