If you thought that there aren’t any good alternatives to Atom, except Nvidia Ion, but wait, that uses Atom. So that would leave Via’s Nano and well, when’s the last time you saw one of those in the shop?
The Acer Aspire 521 is an updated version of the current Aspire One 500 series. The AO521 10.1-inch netbook will be powered by a AMD V105 processor which is the slowest single core “Geneva” processor of the “Nile” platform. The processor its clocked in at 1.2GHz with 512KB L2 cache, DDR3 support and 9W TDP. Unlike most netbooks you’ll find an HDMI port because of the M880G chipset which should make HD video playback smooth. If we are comparing Apples to Apples lets look at AMDs competing processor the which didn’t fly because of its shoddy battery life, the Lenovo X100e with the Athlon Neo MV 40 only lasts you five hours.
