At $99, the HP TouchPad would be an amazing Android tablet. Its got the 1.2Ghz dual core Qualcomm processor along side a 1024×768 IPS display in a 9.7″ form factor.

It was only a matter of time before someone got started on it and there is a pretty active thread over at RootzWiki about it. They’ve got a few major obstacles to over come before they’ll have a working ROM, but its all about the hardware support. They’ll have to get the sensors and wireless working as well as the file partitions along side a long list of other adjustments.

How long will it take to get this port working? Its a mystery since its all a matter of how knowledgeable the developers are that decide to take part. There is going to be a few tricky bits of code that are going to have to happen to get that hardware working.
