WebOS developers have just found themselves homeless with HP announcing that they will discontinuing all the hardware that will go along with the operating system.  Brandon Watson from the Windows Phone team went after the WebOS developer community by explaining how developers can get their hands on free Windows 7 Phones for development purposes.  “@akanster Shoot me an email — ThePhone at Microsoft — and we can go from there. What app did you publish?”

With Microsoft trying to gain a foot hold in the smartphone market, its a no brainer that they’d go ais certainly not joking. The company is dead set on growing the total pool of development talent that feeds the Windows Phone app Marketplace.

We wonder how many developers are out there and how many free training and hardware will attract over to Microsoft.
