Quanta was at the Wimax Forum here in Taipei showing off its Wimax capabilites. No one is distributing this netbook yet. We wonder why so many companies are coming out with netbooks that have zero innovation when netbooks like these are going stale on the shelves over at Quanta! To remind you Quanta is the main manufacturer for Apple, so we aren’t surprised that they have gems like these hiding in the background.

maybe the reason for staleness is that intel and microsoft do not allow creativity as that could risk eating into the market for full laptops.

also, wimax is not used for anything but fixed installation outside of usa and south korea…

Sigh, I wish you weren’t right! The people who were showing me this netbook were very clear that they were looking for someone to brand it. That they had many more exciting models at the office just waiting to come to market. Even if intel & microsoft are cock blocking innovation, I wish they would atleast let us get to this level, this is really what all pinetrail netbooks should have looked like.

On a Wimax side note, I can now take the high speed rail across the whole country on prepaid Wimax. . .too bad they are capping it at 4MB/1MB! What happened to the break neck speeds everyone has been bragging about! Lame!
