Netbook  News is very excited about the released of the ViewPad 7x, we love that Viewsonic has taken the time customize their tablet with the SPB Launcher user interface. We originally heard that the tablet would be enjoying a mid to late August releases while they were getting Android 3.1 ready, but since then Android 3.2 has reared its head.  While checking in about tablet availability I heard directly from Viewsonic’s PR department here in Taipei that there would be now be released in September because they were prepping the tablet to feature Android 3.2.

In case you’re wondering what that means the new Android 3.2 features are:

  • Optimizations / refinements across a wider range of tablets including 7 inch
  • Compatibility Zoom – another option for viewing phone apps on tablets. Works like Apple’s way of doing this
  • Load media directly from a removable SD card
  • Extended screen support API – means more fine-tuned UI control across Android displays, specifically, you can target pixel density, rather than resolution.

If you haven’t had a chance to check out this sleek UI that we recommend for any tablet especially ones running Android 2.2 so at least you’ll have a decent way to navigate around your tablet. The Viewpad 7x has a  7-inch 1024 x 600 display with Gorilla Glass, Nvidia Tegra 2, 2/5MP front and rear cameras, mini HDMI, microSD and HDMI ports.

Here is our hands on video where you can take a look at the tablet as well as the SPB Launcher.
