The ASUS Eee PC X101 netbook is an Ultra thin netbook running the Linux operating system MeeGo has an official ASUS product page. It features a matte 10-inch 1024 x 600 resolution display, single core Intel Atom N435 CPU at 1.33GHz, 8GB SSD, 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi, 2x USB 2.0, microSD card slot, headphone, Kensington key lock and a 2600mAh 28Wh battery.

We have word from EeePC.it that ASUS has given them an unoffical heads up that the X101 will be selling in Germany mid-August for 169€. We have yet to see it pop up on Amazon or any other reseller yet, but we’ll keep an eye out.

The X101 went up for pre-order in the US through  Directron for $209 which is only $10 higher then predicted at $199.  However, they say they are shipping directly from the maufacturer, so I’d say hold off for a more official reseller.  If you’re not sold on MeeGo (Which I think is a mistake) there is meant to be the X101H which will be running Windows 7 that should cost you around $310. If you want to check out our hands on video from Computex we’ve got it here below:

N435 is likely an OEM part. Specialized OEM SKUs do not show up at the ARK page.

It takes awhile before Intel releases a new product page, it took till after products with the N570 already came to market before a product page for it showed up for example.

The N435 is likely just an under clocked N455, which is the alternative chip for the higher priced version of the X101.
