Update: Apparently they are shipping! Rather then waiting for stock to get into the warehouse they are shipping directly from the supplier who has stock! Although I’m not sure how much I believe this since my contact at ASUS says it wont start shipping until sometime in August.
Looks like the ASUS X101 MeeGo netbook is going up for sale in the US as a few people had heard it wasn’t going to be coming to the US, even though there was an FCC filing.
This thin netbook features a matte 10-inch 1024 x 600 resolution display, single core Intel Atom N435 CPU at 1.33GHz, 16GB SSD, 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi, 2x USB 2.0, microSD card slot, headphone, Kensington key lock and a 2600mAh 28Wh battery. Its up for pre order on Directron for $209 which is only $10 higher then predicted at $199. If you’re not sold on MeeGo (Which I think is a mistake) there is meant to be the X101H which will be running Windows 7 that should cost you around $310.
