With Intel’s roadmap leading to tablets and then towards in vehicle entertainment you can be sure that new processors are on the roadmap as well. Fudzilla claims that Intel is coming out with a new dual-core desktop processor. The Atom D525 is a dual-core processor is going to be running at 1.8GHz instead of 1.66GHz with support for both DDR2 and DDR3 memory. It will also have the same 13W TDP as the Atom D510 processor it is essentially replacing.
The D525 is expected to launch sometime in Q2 2010, Fudzilla says the single core Atom D425 chip (if Intel continue their naming scheme) will run at the same 1.66GHz clock speed as the Atom D410. We’ll be keeping an eye out over the next few months for these new processors!
